  Amazing location and views of the Horton Tower. Sadly, the food was poor compared to all the great reviews this place has.
  The sweetcorn soup literally tasted like custard with a hint of sweetcorn, and the roast lamb was leathery on one side and quite chewy, the new potatoes were nice but the 9 peas looked and tasted like they had been reheated from the day before.
  The kids meals were all fine but the 50 minute wait was stressful because the kids were getting very bored.
  There are no play things for kids.
  The front of the pub is really nice and full of character but the back room that we were led to to dine in was an echoey shell from the 80's with some roughed up lengths of wood glued to the walls and ceiling. It just felt like a waste of potential - and a waste of good money for the food.
  To their credit, they did take the soups off the bill because we couldn't eat it and told them politely that we thought it tasted like custard - but then they added two drinks we never had which they also removed once we'd highlighted it.
  Not a very good experience.
